I have busted my total of four caches in one day, with eight. Admittedly I had help. See, kiwiorchid has been in contact with me ever we did Der Glitter. Due to me being in England, and having weekend classes I was unable to meet with him. He asked me to an earth cache 29 miles away, and I told him I didn’t feel comfortable going that far. He understood, and arranged to meet with me today to find some DNF’s I had. I agreed. My mother also plays into this. I found the first four caches of the day by myself, the last four with kiwi (and one of them with my parents as well.) All in all, it was a awessssome day.

Miraculous (1.5/1.5)

This was almost too easy. I was listening to the feast of fools podcast when I found this, which says something. I usually turn off my ipod when I look for caches as it distracts me.

Standard film canister. Easy in, easy out.

Young Frankenstein (1/1)

This one actually took me about 15 min, and I was considering DNF’ing it. I didn’t really understand the hint “Look for frankenstien’s castle “That’s Fronkenstein!”". Then I accidently stumbled upon this, half buried, with only the top visible.

The log book was nasty! Moldy and damp. Yuck.

The Sign to Nowhere (1/1)

This was fast, but a little embarrassing. The hint said “under cover” So I climbed this gate thing to look under the cover of the back of a nearby “do not pass” sign. It was stuck on good. Then I noticed a different sign that didn’t indicate anything at all… and found the micro on the back:

Its a mad,mad,mad,mad world (1/1.5)

This one was actually a little entertaining. I found the cache immediately, even though my coordinates were still trying to zoom in. I spotted the “unnatural looking rock laid against a tree” thing and found the cache like bing bang boom:

The funny part was that while I’m signing the logbook (and listening to the feast of fools, god I love those guys) I didn’t hear someone walk up near me. The cache was located a bit high on top of a smallish type cliff. I see some movement out the corner of my eye, and what do I see? And gentleman with what I assume was his young son (10 or so) and a gps in his hand. We grin awkwardly at each other. Since he didn’t start any conversations and began hesitantly making his way away (I am assuming he wanted to give his kid a chance to find the cache) I quickly stashed the thing back and made my get away. Unfortunately when running off I lost my metal rod/poking stick. Sigh.

Flugtag ‘88 Memorial (2.5/1)
This was actually a DNF before, and you can view that log on the second half of the page here. Turns out it was in fact not muggled, we’re just all retards. We were all obsessed with the top of the sign because it had a cap that came off. Turns out near the bottom WAS THE FREAKING NANO CACHE. You can see it really well in the picture because I already removed it, but previously it was lodged up in between. Well then again, I have more experience with nanos now. Kiwi gave me a nice hint here saying “it’s not on the inside…”

This was the cache my parents came back on with me. My mother didn’t feel comfortable with me seeing Kiwi by myself, and decided to tag along.

Am Neuen Markt Square (3/1)

This was a cache I DNF’d before. I did it the same day I did Hollywood and the Jfk Cache. I was unable to find it because a carnival was being set up in town. But today Kiwi helped me and thank god he was there, as you can see in the next picture if it had been just me I would have been jumping madly without success to try and reach it:

Yeah, it was high up. About a head further than what I can naturally reach. Sheesh.

034 Rocky (2.5/1.5)

Kiwi hadn’t found this one yet, so I suggested it. Pretty funny deal. This is the first micro stage:

Which he had found before. We got to the final and I got all gung ho and climbed up into the area, and then went around back. When I was around back Kiwi yelled out and we found the cache. The funny part is he had been there before and totally overlooked this thing:

Yeah that rock in my hand is the cache, that is awesome. It blended in really well. I added the text to the image because well, I look freaking high.

Der GehÃĪngte (2/3)

And then came the last cache of the day, which I freaking love. The first stage was on the back of a sign, and it had bearing + distance on it. Unfortunately for me, my gps does not do bearing + distance crap. Thankfully Kiwi had been here before, so he took me to the second stage where I saw this:

OH GOD, I CAN SEE FOREVER. Wait, shiny?

This is like a sewer drain for the forest rain. I was terrified but since I had kiwi with me I dove in. That middle lane was dripping water and quite slippery. We made our way to the cache by placing our feet to the side of the stream and crabbing along.

The shiny bit was that micro film hanging from the bag.

Right after the bag you would see three tunnels (large enough for a child to crawl through, on their stomach) and this manhole.

that’s kiwiorchid on the other side of the bag/reflector

Me on the way to sweet sweet liberty.

I really really liked this cache. That is awesome… apparently even when it rains really hard, it never gets wet. LOTS OF SPIDERS THOUGH D:
