Went geocaching with what’s his name again. Got my first FTF, two other caches, and the world tour one (that was my very first cache, which I was unable to find because I have no idea about distance+bearing)

I have busted my total of four caches in one day, with eight. Admittedly I had help. See, kiwiorchid has been in contact with me ever we did Der Glitter. Due to me being in England, and having weekend classes I was unable to meet with him. He asked me to an earth cache 29 miles away, and I told him I didn’t feel comfortable going that far. He understood, and arranged to meet with me today to find some DNF’s I had. I agreed. My mother also plays into this. I found the first four caches of the day by myself, the last four with kiwi (and one of them with my parents as well.) All in all, it was a awessssome day.

As I mentioned in the previous post, I could not find the second cache of the day as I could not figure out the clue. That was stupidity on my part, I didn’t look close enough. First off there was a picture on the cache that had nothing to do with anything, but made me run off to find where the picture matched (in front of the pub, funnily enough). Three people out of the four I emailed responded, which each one giving me a clue better than the first, the last basically telling me what to look for. Feeling slightly guilty but ecstatic that I was going to be able to rid all my tb’s and coins at once (the only other regular cache in the area was the overgrown with brambles one) I trudged out and found the clue immediately, which I had walked by several times already.

So there I am, bright eyed and bushy tailed at the prospect at finding my first cache in england, and bestowing upon it all the many (I.e. 4) geocoins and tb’s I had brought. But first, the reason I went to England was to see my brother’s podling, Dominic (born September 7th)

I’m off to England in a few days, and I decided I needed to take some tb’s and stuff with me. In this cache was a TB I knew wanted to go to london this month, so it was my first stop of the day. It was really damn easy.
021 - Maximilian’s Low to High (3/3) (AKA: ARGH BUSHWHACKING!)

Well what had been planned as a several cache day before I had to go to work at 13:00 turned into a disaster. I started off bushwhacking, and finished off bushwhacking. Took me around 3.5 hours to complete what should have been a 1.5 hour cache. First of the coordinates lead me to what seems to be a forest. After following a path that eventually started leading away from what I wanted I decided to laboriously bushwhack, with my trusty metal pole I lifted from a discarded clothes hanger thingie.
I found the micro no problemo:

I am going to england soon because my brother and his wife had their son. After Der glitter I realized I would have an opportunity to get as many TB’s and geocoins possible to move them to england. And so began my geocaching extravaganza. This was an easy cache outside of landstuhl, which I hit before my college astronomy class.

I wanted to go to a cave cache, and my folks wanted to come along. I luckily checked the cache before I went, about 20 minutes. Since the last time I checked it (yesterday!) it had been deactivated as a micro had gone missing. The cache was very near the event I was at yesterday so I wonder who from there might have taken it… So anywho, I took them to two other caches near where they had parked their car two days ago to go to a wine fest in bad durkheim.
018 - Der Glitter (4/2) + Event

This was actually all because I got an email from Karen on the geocaching site. She told me about an event going on a saturday, and I figured I couldn’t go as I had weekend classes. It turned out to be in the evening and in a round about way of “Why not?” I decided to attend the event. And the food was damn good.
I got seated at one side of the table that contained, happily, all english speaking cachers (and one german who spoke english). We were chatting and laughing the whole night when jdawg and batface said “Hey, we are going for Der glitter, who wants to come?” Der glitter was a cache I had looked at and wondered about, as it just had a picture of some sparklies on its page. I was totally up for a night cache, as I never would if I were alone. In total five of us piled into our respective cars, followed the leader, and reached der glitter.
